- BOOZY, a named derived from the word Booze (an alcoholic beverage) was appointed the name from his peers at the young age of 13, when he would steal his father’s alcohol and spend time getting drunk in parks with friends often resulting in actions that would lead to police punishment. By the age of 14 and still stealing alcohol, Boozy developed a sparking interest for rap where he and his crew would get together and start freestyling, spitting drunken rhymes, engaging in battles where one day he noticed that a “talent” with rapping was definitely apparent within his style and wordplay. This lead to the formation of the group known back then as the Roughcutz; consisting of the two founding members Boozy and Drex of DnA productions, later added to the group was Priceless.
The Roughcutz spent time in the basement of an upcoming DJ putting numerous tracks down on tape cassette flowing over industry beats where they later pushed out within local friends gaining notariety and props from their peers. One thing listeners and people alike were never able to figure out was the background of Boozy, due to the crowd he hung with, his overall style and speech.
Within his own community of people whom shared the same East Indian decent, Boozy was frowned upon due to the fact that not much culture could be derived from this young artist. Growing up, he has never been a stranger to name calling and haters alike, resulting in the combative mentality that he still has today. To counter these thoughts and to show not only the haters but the people of the world, this proud, unique and one of kind East Indian rapper introduced the name “Bollywood” a Indian film industry that can be recognized and identified with world wide, was added into his rap stage name resulting into the artist today known as Boozy a.k.a Bollywood Booz.
Now repping as a member of the highly talented and popularized label of HUSTLE & FLIP, Bollywood Booz is ready to hit the industry HARD like a bottle of Over Proof RUM to the head. Displaying not only his ability eat Hip Hop tracks but also his diversification within creating an upcoming rising music of Indian Hip Hop, a mixture of Indian melodies and Hip Hop beats. THE CYPHER - Golden Era Edition

Hip Hop exists in its fullest effect when the community that supports it comes together and unifies for a common cause. Hip Hop culture manifests through the creative self-expression of individuals who embody its spirit in their respective art-forms. This power of creative self-expression, the unification of a community for the great purpose that is Hip Hop, happens at The Cypher...
The Cypher is a grassroots hip hop event started by MC FÜBB, DJ Combo and the Hip Hop Headz (H3) community in downtown Toronto in the summer of 2009. The Cypher is an event where hip hop MCs, DJs, producers, and other artists from around the city come to meet and showcase their talents and skills, and gives them an opportunity to network and create business opportunities. The Cypher is an event designed to keep alive the spirit of spontaneous creativity and showmanship that can occur only in hip hop. The Cypher is an opportunity for various members of the hip hop community to perform, network, build community and have fun.
Artists sign up to take part in group performances called cyphers, in which each performer takes a few minutes on the mic and then passes it on to the next performer. All performances occur over music supplied by a live DJ, spinning hip hop instrumentals. Local producers also have an opportunity to have their music played at The Cypher and rapped over by the performing artists. There are also a few spots at The Cypher reserved for featured artists to perform their own sets.

This edition, we'll be playing tracks and instrumentals from the "Golden Era" of hip hop (disputably, '89-'96).

Stardance is a new monthly that unites all styles of music and dance under one common cause. This is THE event to come out and rock your style on the dance floor. Whether you're in a crew or solo, this is the time and place to bust out your skills and represent. The floor (i.e. cardboard/linoleum) is open to whoever can rock it. Come and show off your style, network, learn, share and be part of a new community. Stardance is the perfect place for dancers of all genres, and of all skill levels, to practice, show off their skills, get feedback, and build connections in the dance community.

In Chicago, Franco de Leon is a regular feature of the nightclub scene, with several select shows a month. He can be found at some of the highest profile venues, and/or simply the hippest places to be: from parties in the uber-hip Wicker Park Area, to Chicago nightlife staples like Wrigleyville’s Smart Bar, to the new, super posh, live venues, like The Shrine in the burgeoning South Loop. Besides his reputation as a pheonomenal DJ (impeccable blending technique, superb crowd reading, interesting and appealing track selection, as well as great stage presence), its also common to see de Leon playing live guitar over his mixes, remixing music on the fly, and breaking the barriers of genre. He has opened for international stars like DJ Qbert (the pioneer of turntablism, who has twice requested to play tag team sets with de Leon in the last eight months), Derrick Carter (a Chicago house legend), and Rhymefest (Grammy Award Winner).
